AETHERN EQ-10
A JUCE/C++ 10-band graphic EQ plugin concept focused on interface design, switchable Gain/Q editing, HPF/LPF controls, preset-based frequency layouts, and fast tone-shaping workflow.
Graphic EQ workflow with flexible bandwidth control.
AETHERN EQ-10 is a JUCE-based equalizer plugin concept built around a familiar 10-band graphic EQ layout, with added bandwidth control through Q-mode. The project focuses on interface direction, plugin workflow, and fast access to practical tone-shaping controls.
The plugin brings the main tone-shaping controls into a compact interface, balancing fast visual scanning with enough depth for practical mixing and production workflows.
What it does
- 10-band EQ layout with dedicated input/output trim and HPF/LPF controls
- Q-mode workflow for bandwidth-focused editing
- Preset system with instrument-focused and mix-focused frequency layouts
- Clear bypass state and responsive visual feedback
- Interface concept designed around fast scanning and direct adjustment
Multi-band biquad EQ with switchable Q editing.
AETHERN EQ-10 is built in C++ with JUCE and uses a custom 10-band biquad structure. The first band runs as a low shelf, the final band as a high shelf, and the middle bands as peak filters.
The processor uses AudioProcessorValueTreeState for gain, Q-position, preset, trim, and bypass parameters. Presets define both the frequency layout and default Q behavior, while Q-mode lets the same 10-slider interface switch from gain editing to bandwidth adjustment.
Input and output gain are smoothed, filter values are clamped for safety, and the processor is structured around real-time parameter updates for responsive plugin control in a DAW environment.
Deeper control without crowding the interface.
One of the main design decisions in AETHERN EQ-10 is the switchable Q-mode. Instead of adding a second layer of always-visible controls, the same 10-slider layout can shift between gain adjustment and bandwidth editing.
This keeps the interface readable at a glance while still allowing more precise shaping when the user needs it.
UI concept and plugin workflow in active development.
AETHERN EQ-10 is currently being refined toward distribution, with this page highlighting the interface direction, Gain/Q editing workflow, preset-based layouts, HPF/LPF controls, and DAW plugin structure.
